About The Position

The Dining Supervisor supervises the day to day operations of one or more full service retail restaurant, coffee/bakery, convenience store, or quick service dining locations. Works closely with students and other supervisors/managers to ensure the highest level of food and customer service quality. Hires, trains, schedules and works along side student workers. RIT Dining serves thousands of students, faculty, and staff each day, creating meaningful moments across campus. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of food service production and service techniques and standards
  • Knowledge of food sanitation and safety standards and protocols
  • Skill in time management, organization, and multi-tasking in high volume environments
  • Skill in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to obtain food safety/sanitation certifications required of the position
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Washes and prepares various foods for cooking or serving
  • Follows all established quality control, portioning, and customer service standards
  • Provides excellent service in a friendly, sincere, and courteous manner
  • Cleans dishware, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • Ensures proper sorting and storage of dishware, flatware, trays, utensils, or cooking equipment
  • Receives and stores supplies
  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned
