About The Position

Stella Maris is recruiting Dining Services Assistants to support its mission of providing excellent care to residents. The Dining Services Assistant facilitates meal service and provides excellent customer service. Positions are available full time, part time, and flex.

Requirements

• Literacy and communication skills in English.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and push a cart weighing 300 pounds.
• Pleasant disposition and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, serve, and retrieve prepared food accurately and in a timely manner, following department procedures, and make corrections or substitutions as needed.
• Ensure all menu items and serving utensils needed for meal service are available and adequate before service begins.
• Follow food-handling regulations, including proper wrapping, labeling, dating, and storage of food.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Complete necessary food-item or supply preparation and stocking for future meals.
• Use correct sanitation procedures and equipment, including proper handwashing, wearing a hair net, and using plastic gloves.
• Assist nursing staff in ensuring that food-handling and nutritional requirements and procedures are followed.
