About The Position

The Dining Server provides customer service to residents and helps create a pleasant dining experience. The role takes resident orders, serves meals, provides assistance, and supports dining-room setup, food preparation, cleaning, and special events. The position is hourly and non-exempt, is scheduled for at least 30 hours per week, and reports to the Culinary Services Director.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Competence in organizational and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience working with seniors.
• Ability to perform the physical activities described, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and smelling.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds; intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents, using proper body mechanics.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma preferred; GED accepted.

Responsibilities

• Take residents’ dining orders in a friendly and attentive manner.
• Learn and retain residents’ names, special requests, and dietary restrictions.
• Set up the dining room and ensure service items are readily available.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the dining room, menus, kitchen, serving stations, and other areas as directed.
• Ensure safe food handling.
• Assist with preparing beverages, snacks, desserts, salads, and condiments for service.
• Assist residents with special dining requests.
• Ensure all residents are accounted for during each meal and document their attendance.
• Assist with special events.
• Participate in and attend scheduled in-service training.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and community policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
