About The Position

MorningStar Senior Living is seeking a part-time Dining Room Server/Dishwasher to provide high-quality meals and help create a gracious dining environment for residents. The role involves taking and communicating orders accurately, relaying orders to back-of-house staff, and providing exceptional customer service to residents.

The team member is present in the dining room throughout meal service, supports scheduled special functions, and helps maintain a clean, hygienic, sanitary, and infection-free environment. Duties also include oversight of bistro areas as directed, learning daily specials and residents’ preferences and dietary needs, attending required training and meetings, and participating in the Quality Assurance Committee as directed. The position is based in Colorado Springs and is scheduled Thursday, Sunday, and Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pay is $17.00–$17.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Knowledge of and ability to meet ADA, state, infection-control, health department, and OSHA regulations.
• Previous experience in the dietary department of a healthcare facility or restaurant is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality meal service and help facilitate a gracious dining environment.
• Communicate accurately, take meal orders, and relay orders to back-of-house staff.
• Provide exceptional customer service to residents during interactions.
• Be present in the dining room for full meal service.
• Assist with special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and an infection-free environment.
• Oversee bistro areas as directed, including food presentation, cleanliness, stocking supplies and beverages, and making popcorn.
• Know the daily specials and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn residents’ names, dietary needs, requests, likes, and dislikes.
• Serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance Committee as directed.
• Sanitize tables and chairs, reset tables, and vacuum the floor after each meal.
• Attend trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.
