About The Position

Aspira Mayfair Terrace Retirement Living is seeking a Dining Room Manager to oversee dining room operations and ensure exemplary service delivery. This role is pivotal in bringing core values of positivity, accountability, community, and caring to life. The successful candidate will manage the department's budget, lead their team to create an enriching experience for both Team Members and Residents, and foster an environment where joy and well-being flourish.

Requirements

  • Graduated from high school and completed coursework in hospitality service management, guest relations, service excellence, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in fine dining, catering service, or hospitality within hotels and restaurants.
  • A valid Food Safe Certificate.
  • A valid Serving it Right certificate.
  • Strong people skills that can guide, motivate, and supervise a diverse team while also being able to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, understanding, and connect with both residents and their families.
  • Ability to think quickly, adapt to changing situations, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, manage budgets, and ensure the smooth operation of the department.
  • Must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

  • Support and monitor the efficacy of all food and beverage activities within the residence to align with Aspira standards and expectations for hospitality-style dining services.
  • Oversee all aspects of management related to dining room servers, including recruitment, orientation, supervision, and performance evaluation, aimed at maintaining high productivity levels.
  • Conduct training and education sessions on hospitality-style dining service to ensure that team members are proficient in providing excellent service to residents.
  • Assist with meal service by performing server duties as needed.
  • Report supply and procurement requirements to the General Manager.
  • Manage staffing levels for the dining room within the allocated budget.
