About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a Dining Room Manager for The Rushwood Senior Living community in Wichita, Kansas. This full-time position involves ensuring the dining room is immaculate and providing impeccable service to residents. The role requires a welcoming and engaging presence, preparation for meal services, maintaining cleanliness, and observing resident dining habits. The ideal candidate will be at least eighteen years old, possess previous experience leading a hospitality team, and have knowledge of resident care requirements. A food server permit is mandatory, along with strong English communication skills. The role demands a positive and energetic attitude, the ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day, and the capacity to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Physical and mental capability to perform tasks, including assisting residents, is essential, and will be verified by a health screening. Criminal clearance is also required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate to the residents.
  • Must have and maintain a food server permit as required by the county.
  • Can read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency.
  • Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
  • Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting people after a fall.
  • Must be criminally cleared.
  • Be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
  • Good physical health shall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than six (6) months prior to or seven (7) days following employment.
  • Must test free from pulmonary tuberculosis at time of health screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience leading a hospitality team preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the dining room looks and stays perfect and the service residents receive is impeccable.
  • Greeting residents and making them feel welcome, being present in the dining room, mingling, entertaining, and fostering an environment where residents can connect.
  • Preparing tables for service, salads for the next meal, or rolling silverware.
  • Bussing tables and sweeping floors.
  • Communicating with supervisors and Wellness when poor dietary habits or unusual changes in appetite are observed, as well as when residents are absent from meals.
