About The Position

The Dining Room Manager assists the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring high-quality standards in food production, presentation, sanitation, and service. This role involves overseeing the evaluation and assignment of work, recommending personnel actions based on associate performance, and maintaining company culture and philosophies. The manager is responsible for ensuring all products meet specifications, maintaining exceptional sanitation standards, and managing hourly associates through leadership and mentoring. They must also protect the company's financial assets by controlling costs and maximizing revenues, communicate professionally, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies regarding unemployment, food handling, and alcohol service. Additionally, the manager is responsible for training all newly hired Front-Of-House (FOH) associates.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations.
  • Maintain high quality standards in food production and presentation.
  • Ensure high standards of sanitation and safety.
  • Maintain high levels of service.
  • Oversee the evaluation and assignment of work for associates.
  • Recommend personnel actions consistent with associate performance.
  • Ensure all products are served to proper specifications.
  • Maintain restaurant sanitation to exceed Health Department standards.
  • Manage hourly associates by creating an atmosphere for ongoing leadership and mentoring.
  • Utilize tools like to-do lists, job performance evaluations, and daily one-on-one meetings.
  • Understand and protect the financial assets of the company.
  • Control costs and maximize revenues.
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with all business partners.
  • Understand and comply with all policies, procedures, and laws related to unemployment, food handling sanitation, and alcohol service.
  • Familiarize all newly hired Front-Of-House (FOH) associates with restaurant practices.
  • Oversee the training of all FOH associates.
  • Directly supervise all FOH associates.
  • Conduct interviewing, hiring, and training of associates.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Appraise performance of associates.
  • Reward and discipline associates.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
