About The Position

The Dining Room Assistant supports restaurant operations by expediting guest service, delivering food from the kitchen in a timely manner, cleaning and resetting tables, and stocking service stations. The role also helps maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the restaurant and assists coworkers and guests during meal periods.

The position is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and resolve problems from limited alternatives. The employee may also recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and walk for extended periods.
• Effective communication skills.
• Collaboration skills.
• Time-management skills.
• Ability to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Clean and set tables properly.
• Replenish non-alcoholic beverages as needed.
• Maintain the ice supply in server stations and the bar.
• Stock side stations with clean, polished, wrapped silverware, napkins, straws, and other supplies.
• Ensure furniture and floors are clean and arranged according to specifications.
• Remove plates and silverware from tables throughout the meal and transport them to the dish area.
• Assist coworkers and guests during meal periods.
• Help maintain the overall cleanliness of the restaurant, including front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
• Run food from the kitchen.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
