About The Position

The Dining-PM Supervisor is responsible for managing all Dining Services Associates, direct oversight of the entire dining services operation and working with all associates to close the kitchen at the end of the shift. This role involves managing daily evening staffing, ensuring effective operation of the tray line, and collaborating with management to ensure proper staff training and utilization. The supervisor also plays a key role in maintaining safety and uniform guidelines, assisting with training and corrective actions, and managing the dish room and tray line operations. Additionally, this position requires monitoring tray accuracy, performing cleaning duties, reporting equipment issues, handling phone calls and meal ticket changes, and delivering items as needed. Participation in in-service education, department meetings, and safety programs is expected, along with providing excellent customer service. In the absence of higher management, this role serves as the lead person in the Dining Services department.

Requirements

  • High School Education at a minimum.
  • Food Service Experience and knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Ability to read, write, and do simple math calculations.
  • Basic food knowledge and ability to apply it.
  • Ability to organize and perform responsibilities independently.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Customer service focused; ability to work well with others.
  • Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
  • Willing and able to work overtime as required by the position and/or approved by management.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly” service-focused personality.
  • Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).

  • Serv-Safe certification and/or County Sanitation certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with AM Supervisor to oversee lunch tray line operation, lunch cleanup and restocking for the dinner meal.
  • Able to work within our Diet Software system to print tickets and view Member profiles as needed.
  • Evaluates the daily evening staffing and makes the necessary decisions to ensure that the evening tray line can operate effectively.
  • Takes the temperature of the walk-in coolers, refrigerators and freezer and records them on the appropriate logs.
  • Collaborates with the Managers, Executive Chef and Director to ensure that the staff is trained properly and is utilized to the best of his/her capabilities.
  • Ensures that all the Dining Services Associates are following proper safety guidelines, as well as, correct uniform guidelines.
  • Assists in on-the-job training.
  • Assists in the corrective action process.
  • Manages the dish room and/or tray line as assigned, following correct procedures to insure clean and sanitary service to Members.
  • Monitors tray line and check trays for accuracy.
  • Performs cleaning functions as assigned.
  • Informs the Management team of any equipment not working properly, as well as, any resources needed.
  • Answers phones, makes appropriate changes to meal tickets.
  • Delivers items to the neighborhood when able to and if not, assigns them to other staff Members.
  • Participates in in-service education, department meetings and safety programs.
  • Ensures that all tasks are performed accurately and effectively.
  • Completes daily closing Supervisor checklist form.
  • Performs other duties as required by Management or by Administration from time to time.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Lead person in the Dining Services department in the absence of Director, Executive Chef and Dining Services Manager.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workplace that is also utilized by co-workers.
  • Performs other duties as requested, including stocking neighborhoods, working in dish room, delivering food carts, assisting tray line.
