About The Position

The Dining Assistant/Waiter serves elders and guests, takes meal orders, and cleans tables after meals. The role prepares and serves meals for the dietary department safely and appetizingly, in compliance with dietary standards, policies, and procedures. It also involves cleaning the kitchen, washing dishes, and returning food to proper storage.

The Dining Assistant provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers, works willingly as part of a team, and follows procedures for infection control, food-borne illness prevention, harmful chemical handling, fire safety, and sanitation. The role also ensures appropriate snacks are available for elders with special dietary needs.

Requirements

• Kindness and a desire to work with elderly people; enjoy working with people in general.
• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities
