SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. This role involves performing visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies at supplier sites. The inspector will select and utilize standard gauges, inspect feature tolerances, and perform complex inspections on purchased mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials. Documentation review, verification of certifications, and ensuring conformance to design and specification requirements are key. The inspector will also ensure parts meet SpaceX specifications and standards, documenting any non-conformance. Support for the development of inspection plans, the supplier corrective action process, and providing support to internal and external stakeholders are also part of the role. Collaboration with teams, leading projects, and driving continuous improvement are expected. A significant part of the role includes programming and setting up Articulating Arms (e.g., Romer) and CMMs to achieve desired inspections.
