CMM Programmer

Magna International•Clinton, TN

About The Position

The CMM Programmer creates, edits, and runs coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection programs using PC-DMIS, with PolyWorks experience considered a plus. The role performs dimensional inspections for production, first-article, PPAP, and engineering-change parts; analyzes and reports inspection data; and promptly communicates out-of-tolerance results to Quality, Production, and Engineering. It interprets engineering drawings and GD&T, sets up parts and fixtures, and verifies fixture alignment and datum structure. The position also maintains the CMM program library and revision control, qualifies probes, performs routine CMM care, and maintains inspection-lab conditions. The CMM Programmer supports Gauge R&R and MSA activities, manual gauge inspections, calibration records, sample handling, root-cause investigations, inspection prioritization, and audits related to dimensional control. The role supports compliance with IATF 16949, AIAG MSA, Control Plans, PFMEA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Magna safety and environmental requirements. It also contributes to a safe and healthy workplace, supports continuous improvement of SH&E systems, and follows applicable safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. The role requires at least three years of dimensional/CMM experience, hands-on CMM programming and operation, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. The work takes place throughout a manufacturing plant and inspection environment, with occasional travel and additional hours as needed. Physical demands include extended sitting and standing, reaching and bending, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment may be loud, and required personal protective equipment must be used.
