About The Position

CACI is seeking a Digital Signal Processing Engineer to develop next-generation signals intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic warfare systems for the Department of Defense. The position supports a program using Model-Based Systems Engineering and Agile software development to deliver capabilities for warfighters and national security missions. The engineer designs, develops, debugs, integrates, and tests signal-processing algorithms and SIGINT software on varied platforms. The role also involves software and DSP algorithm development, machine-learning applications, analytic signal-processing tools, and maintenance of X-Midas and M2Extra tools. The engineer helps define requirements, concepts of operations (CONOPs), and future-system architectures. A Top Secret clearance is required to begin employment; continued employment requires obtaining a TS/SCI clearance. Travel is up to 10% within the continental United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of related experience in relevant engineering disciplines, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Programming experience with Python, X-Midas, M2Extra, and C++.
  • Linux software development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and analytical information in written products.
  • Exposure to all phases of the software development lifecycle: concept, design, implementation, test, and production.
  • Experience working in highly collaborative teams focused on signal processing and software development.
  • Top Secret clearance required to begin employment; must obtain TS/SCI clearance to continue employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Understanding of software-defined radio systems, including receiver architectures, software channelization, modulation/demodulation techniques, and spectral analysis.
  • Experience with X-Midas developing RF transmission and receiver systems or software-defined radio.
  • Experience processing signals using any software tool suite.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Experience with telemetry systems.
  • Knowledge and experience processing signals, including error-correcting codes and digital video formats.
  • Knowledge and experience with target-tracking systems.
  • Knowledge and experience performing machine-learning techniques.
  • Experience designing, developing, or testing weapons systems.
  • Experience developing link budgets, range estimates, and system sensitivity assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, integrate, and test signal-processing algorithms and SIGINT software systems across a variety of platforms.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test software and DSP algorithms.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test software for machine-learning applications.
  • Enhance and maintain existing X-Midas and M2Extra signal-processing tools.
  • Help define requirements, CONOPs, and architectures for future systems.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Develop analytic signal-processing tools.
