The Digital Production Group (DPG) at the University of Virginia Library provides a full suite of services to create, manage, deliver, and expand access to the University of Virginia's distinctive digital collections. The DPG's primary mission is to convert the Library's rare, medium rare and unique materials to digital formats which the U.Va. community can use to support research and instructional needs. This internship offers students the opportunity to photograph rare materials and circulating items that are considered 'medium rare' or are too fragile for circulation. Students will gain an understanding of the digital workflow of the unit, be exposed to a variety of rare and unique materials, and benefit from the mentoring of library staff. The position also includes participation in the structured Transformational Federal Work-Study (TWFS) Internship, which offers dedicated career support and skill development.
