About The Position

PBS SoCal tells stories that matter through original programs that reflect the diversity of the region and the full schedule of trusted PBS and PBS SoCal programs. Our content channels are available for free on internet-connected screens through the PBS and PBS KIDS App, as well as seven local broadcast channels including PBS SoCal and PBS SoCal Plus. A donor-supported community institution, PBS SoCal sparks the sharing of ideas at in-person cultural events and community conversations as well as delivers social impact through services that prepare our most vulnerable children for school.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Available for a minimum of 20, but no more than 30 hours per week
  • Reliable transportation access for travel to in-person meetings and events
  • Strong ability to work with new technologies and problem solve, independently or collaboratively
  • High-level proficiency in file format and optimization
  • Proficiency with photo editing software
  • Strong understanding of web-based asset management
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Digital Media Manager to audit and prioritize tasks for content optimization
  • Work through prioritized lists, including updates to metadata, imagery, and related content
  • Review and analyze metrics to make any tactical suggestions
  • Explore opportunities for enhancement on the YouTube platform in particular
  • Conduct independent research as directed; organize and present findings
  • Prioritize, plan, and execute media publication
  • Optimize media for respective platform
  • Research required web technology as needed to be used by web application/site
  • Work with the Digital and Digital Content teams to strategize and plan deliverables
