About The Position

The course tackles the opportunities of digital media as new technologies emerge. Students are exposed to new business models, policy development, distribution structures, and intellectual property regimes. Students learn about the value of cross-disciplinary thinking and work towards the development of viable business models. The class schedule is Fridays 3-6pm in the Fall term. The contract is from September to December 2026. The estimated course enrollment is 25 students, with no TA support.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Music Technology & Digital Media, Music Business, or closely related field
  • Industry experience in the cultural sector, including knowledge of intellectual property and performing rights considerations
  • Experience as an artist in music performance, creation, or production

Responsibilities

  • Define course objectives and materials
  • Provide clear guidelines on course requirements and regulations
  • Teach classes as scheduled
  • Administer and evaluate student assignments
  • Prepare and submit final grades in accordance with policy
  • Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours
