About The Position

Use your creativity and marketing savvy to help get thousands of books and critical resources to kids in need! The Digital Marketing Manager takes new partnerships, initiatives, and resources for educators from concept to large-scale, multi-channel distribution. Their key responsibilities are to build marketing plans and create corresponding digital marketing assets, such as social media creatives and email communications, that promote exciting programs and resources to support educators and their students. You’ll excel in this role if you’re a creative marketer with a collaborative spirit and a knack for project management. This candidate should be a skilled marketer who is comfortable with design, content creation, and monitoring multi-channel outreach campaign success. They communicate effectively with internal and external clients/project teams. The Manager will work cross-functionally to inform campaign design that keeps educators’ needs and user experience top-of-mind. Part of the Network Engagement department, and at the center of the organization’s key initiatives, this team supports First Book’s mission by developing organizational strategies to grow the First Book Network of educators, engage and activate its member base, foster a sense of community among members, and distribute books and resources to kids.

Requirements

  • Experience planning and creating design assets for multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns.

  • Strong copywriting and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Graphic design skills and visual creativity.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to contribute at both the strategic level (developing growth ideas using data and creativity) and the tactical level (executing campaigns, analyzing impact, and solving problems).
  • Solution-oriented approach to opportunities and challenges
  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in communications or digital marketing required.
  • Experience managing performance-oriented paid social media campaigns, such as Meta and/or Google Ads, required.
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Photoshop or Canva is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Pardot (Salesforce), Marketing Cloud, Constant Contact, or another similar email platform preferred.
  • Experience with external client/partner relationship management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Program Design & Resource Creation –The Manager guides the structure of programs and their communication campaigns to ensure all touch points with our membership are user-friendly, impactful, and relevant for educators serving kids from low-income families. Many initiatives include developing and then marketing free resources and tools that support practitioners as professionals. The Manager supports initiative & resource development by:
  • Identifying success metrics that ensure funded campaigns accomplish First Book partner goals, advance our mission, and provide a valuable, positive experience for members.
  • Working alongside corporate and non-profit partnership managers to guide programs from ideation through to impact reporting.
  • Multi-Channel Marketing – We seek a creative communicator with strong design and marketing skills. The Manager works alongside the Senior Director of Member Engagement to create and execute robust marketing plans that drive awareness and usage of First Book’s products, resources, and opportunities. The Manager drives successful marketing by:
  • Creating content and campaign elements/assets for multi-channel campaigns with support from the team (ex: email, digital ad creative, and SMS using Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
  • Developing communication strategies to promote new resources and initiatives through paid Meta and Google ad placement, content marketing, SMS campaigns, direct mail, email marketing, etc.
  • Monitoring campaign performance metrics, spotting trends, and implementing adjustments accordingly.
