About The Position

Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Coordinator (DMC) is responsible for developing, executing, and evaluating a range of digital marketing initiatives to support marketing and organizational objectives. The DMC will work closely with the Marketing & Design Officer to play a critical role in delivering projects and campaigns based on the provided strategic direction. The DMC will also play an important role in measuring, analyzing, and recommending improvements regarding the effectiveness of various tactics to inform future strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary education in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience as a content writer, graphic designer, social media specialist, or similar role (a portfolio of past work is strongly encouraged)
  • Proficiency with digital advertising channels, including Google Ads and social media advertising (e.g. LinkedIn, Meta, Reddit, etc.)
  • Highly creative, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Passionate about research and data-informed decisions to understand audience insights, content performance, and industry best practices
  • Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience using content management systems like WordPress, Canto, Coschedule, etc.
  • Experience with project management in a cross-departmental dynamic

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector or working with volunteers is an asset
  • French or Spanish language skills are not required, but would be considered an important asset

Responsibilities

  • Implement, manage, and evaluate digital advertising campaigns across platforms such as Google, Meta, and LinkedIn.
  • Research, test, and review tactics to improve marketing outcomes as identified by the organization’s marketing strategy; active experimentation is encouraged.
  • Continually research industry trends, best practices, and new strategies. Take initiative in identifying innovative activities to effectively engage Catalyste+ audiences.
  • Create written and graphic content in alignment with brand standards to support social media and other digital marketing initiatives.
  • Assist with updating existing brand assets and marketing materials with refreshed imagery, graphics, and messaging as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing & Engagement Officer, publish blog posts, news, and other web content using a WordPress platform.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing & Design Officer, coordinate content production and scheduling in alignment with strategic initiatives across various social media platforms.
  • Monitor and manage social media comments and interactions to engage audiences, filter public-facing commentary, and promote a positive online presence.
  • Receive and triage inbound email submissions to direct them to the appropriate department or respond accordingly.
  • Work and engage directly with volunteers, partners, and international staff when needed to collect information in support of marketing content.
