This is a full-time AmeriCorps position with Urban League Twin Cities. The American Connection Corps (ACC), an AmeriCorps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility, ranging from healthcare access to quality employment. ACC Members spend a year serving with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities. Urban League Twin Cities is a voice and catalyst for social justice, policy change, and equitable outcomes in the Twin Cities. The AmeriCorps Digital Literacy Trainer will help community members gain essential digital skills. Using Northstar Digital Literacy standards as a guide, the member will assist with developing and delivering training on core topics like financial literacy, emerging technologies, basic computer navigation, internet use, email, smartphone/tablet use, and online safety. Trainings will be conducted both in-person (at senior centers, libraries, community centers, etc.) and in hybrid formats (live/online) to accommodate all learners. All activities will be conducted under the guidance and supervision of host site staff. This position is intended to support community digital literacy and capacity-building efforts and may not duplicate or supplant the duties of existing employees or volunteers.
