JCDecaux is currently seeking a Digital Field Technician who will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for supporting the digital operations. This is a two-year assignment based in our Maspeth office, with the potential for additional projects thereafter.

Requirements

  • LED and LCD screens maintenance and installation.
  • Digital signage content management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Digital systems.
  • Exposure to new digital technologies and media (interactivity of all types; gestural, touch, facial recognition, etc.)
  • Ability to navigate and utilize Windows OS efficiently.
  • SMD Soldering.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuitry.
  • Must respond to system emergencies.
  • Must use eye-hand coordination to work and adjust microelectronics components.
  • Must perform extended driving through heavy traffic.
  • Must perform heavy manual labor, i.e., pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must carry tools and materials and climb ladders and work trucks.
  • Must work in an environment that includes heat and noise.
  • Must climb ladders and stairs.
  • Must work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, rain and snow).
  • Must work with and in the vicinity of high voltage.
  • Must stand, walk, and climb ladder.
  • Must walk, stand, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach.
  • Must use hand tools and operate heavy equipment.
  • Must unload materials from delivery vehicles and deliver equipment and materials to various site locations.
  • Must wear all necessary personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs and installs digital systems, and related components such as LED boards, fans, relays, power supplies, thermostats and motors, etc. using soldering techniques, field power tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Installs, repairs and maintains utility on the low voltage side of the equipment.
  • Reads schematic drawings and engineering prints, analyzes PCB boards, uses test equipment to troubleshoot problems within electrical components, circuits or equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs network cabling issues and replaces faulty cables after testing and diagnosis.
  • Will Gain knowledge on various LED displays configuration environments.
  • Works with the Network Operations Center, ConEdison and electricians to ensure all digital systems are performing optimally, and that any system downtime is minimized.
  • Must drive a company vehicle to work locations.
  • Must be able to work weekends, midnight shifts and overtime, when necessary.
  • Must be available and physically fit to support cleaning and snow removal procedures as JCDecaux is contractually obligated to the city to perform this arduous task.
