About The Position

NorQuest College is seeking a term instructor for their Technology team at the downtown campus to teach in the Digital Design program. This program focuses on equipping students with the creative and technical skills necessary to complete design projects. As an instructor, you will facilitate learning across various modalities, utilizing technology to deliver engaging educational experiences. The role involves helping students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for success in their chosen careers. The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, along with a passion for providing instruction and feedback in a safe and inclusive environment. The college aims to help students improve their lives and the lives of those around them. This is a full-time, term instructor position at the downtown campus, requiring instructors to teach courses in Digital Design and collaborate on adjacent programs like Digital Marketing and Content Creator. Instructors must be available to teach Monday to Friday, during the day, at the downtown campus.

Requirements

  • At least two years of recent experience working with industry on a variety of design projects.
  • A portfolio of design projects demonstrating proficiency in industry-standard design tools.
  • At least two years of teaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in using technology.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Engage a collaborative approach as a team member.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching using Moodle and/or Kaltura would be a benefit.
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learning in a variety of modalities using technology to deliver engaging learner experiences.
  • Help learners acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitude to be successful in their chosen career.
  • Provide instruction and feedback that allows students to apply skills in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Teach courses in the Digital Design program.
  • Collaborate on adjacent programs in Digital Marketing and Content Creator.
  • Teach courses including Typography, Principles of Design, Digital Design Tools, Interaction Design for Mobile Experiences, Motion Graphics, Video and Audio Production, and Digital Design Profession.
  • Create engaging and dynamic lessons utilizing a variety of teaching methods.
