About The Position

NewsNation is seeking a Digital Content Producer for Weekend Evenings to join a fast-growing news organization. This role is for someone passionate about news and storytelling, dedicated to serving viewers and readers with important stories. NewsNation is a 24/7 national media outlet committed to showing multiple perspectives and covering all 50 states through a national cable channel and a vibrant digital presence. This full-time position will be based in either our Chicago or New York newsrooms and will include weekend and evening hours.

Requirements

3+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
Strong news judgment and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal.
Experience working with video and social media.
Excellent communicator, both oral and written.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Responsibilities

Create stories that maintain high standards of journalism and differentiate the brand from competitors.
Create or clip videos to help viewers and readers understand news stories.
Craft compelling headlines, push alerts, and social posts.
Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience, ensuring journalistic integrity and production quality.
Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels.
Update NewsNation digital platforms (website, app, email, social) with breaking news and topical news.
Pitch stories daily and develop multiple ideas from a single news topic.
Utilize SEO best practices.
Adjust schedule and assignments as network needs evolve.
