About The Position

NewsNation is seeking a Digital Content Producer for weekend evenings to join their fast-growing news organization. This role is for someone passionate about news and storytelling, dedicated to serving viewers and readers with important stories. The position is full-time and based in either the Chicago or New York newsrooms, requiring weekend and evening hours. NewsNation aims to provide a truly all-platform experience with a national cable channel and a vibrant digital presence, focusing on news that shows multiple perspectives and considers all communities across the country.

Requirements

3+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
Strong news judgment and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal.
Experience working with video and social media.
Excellent communicator, both oral and written.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Responsibilities

Create stories that maintain high standards of journalism and differentiate the brand.
Create or clip videos to help viewers and readers understand news stories.
Craft compelling headlines, push alerts, and social posts.
Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience, ensuring journalistic integrity and production quality.
Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across digital platforms and social media.
Update NewsNation digital platforms (website, app, email, social) with breaking news and topical news.
Pitch stories daily and develop multiple ideas from a single news topic.
Utilize SEO best practices.
Adjust schedule and assignments as network needs evolve.
