About The Position

Higginbotham is accepting applications for our Summer Internship Program - Class of 2027. This is a ten (10) week, part-time (<30 hrs./wk.) program running from June 2nd to August 5th, offering in-person opportunities in Fort Worth, TX. The program is designed for motivated college students entering their Junior or Senior year who share Higginbotham's people-first, family-oriented values. As a Digital Content Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to building a digital presence in the insurance and financial services industry. You will help propose, produce, and support content that promotes brand awareness, showcases company culture, and supports sales and marketing initiatives. This internship is a learning experience where you will contribute to real projects while developing practical skills in content creation, web content support, and graphic design. No prior industry experience is required, only curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a BS or equivalent degree in communications, advertising, public relations, journalism, graphic design, marketing, or a related field.
  • Rising junior or senior standing preferred.
  • No professional experience required; coursework, personal projects, or a portfolio (even informal) are a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator) is a plus.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Interest in content management (i.e., WordPress).
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge is a plus, but not required.
  • Interest in writing for digital audiences (website, social, email).

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Digital Content Specialist and marketing team with content marketing initiatives, including creating content for digital assets and supporting collateral development for sales initiatives and stakeholder events.
  • Participate in team check-ins to understand how marketing projects are prioritized, scoped, and tracked.
  • Gain exposure to the team's project management platform for triaging and tracking in-bound requests.
  • Get introduced to website content support using WordPress, including landing pages, web forms, and other digital assets.
  • Assist with research into website content gaps and basic SEO considerations for product pages.
  • Help build simple forms for internal and external audiences (e.g., RSVP forms, surveys, lead-generation forms).
  • Support content updates for location-specific pages.
  • Assist in designing graphical elements for marketing assets, including collateral, social media, digital assets, and website visuals, under the guidance of the creative team.
  • Support the creative team's review process by checking content for accuracy and quality.
  • Take part in a final internship project or presentation summarizing contributions and learnings.
