Lucas Museum of Narrative ArtLos Angeles, CA
1d$28 - $35

About The Position

We are seeking a Digital Content Coordinator to support the development, input, and management of content across the museum's website, mobile app, and digital asset management system. This role is essential to the museum's opening, ensuring that digital content is accurate, properly formatted, and published on schedule. The Digital Content Coordinator works at the intersection of content creation and technical systems—taking text, images, audio, and video from internal teams and preparing them for publication across digital platforms. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, comfort with multiple software tools, and the ability to manage high volumes of content under deadline. This is a full-time, 9-month term position with immediate focus on opening preparation. Post-opening, the role will offer expanded opportunities to support digital content production as the museum's digital presence matures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in digital media, communications, marketing, digital journalism, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in digital content production, publishing, or coordination, with a track record of managing content workflows and meeting deadlines
  • Hands-on experience with content management systems and digital publishing workflows, including inputting, formatting, and scheduling content for web or app platforms
  • Experience working with digital asset management systems, including organizing, tagging, and maintaining media libraries; experience with NetX is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and keep details from slipping through the cracks
  • Adobe Photoshop and Airtable (required)
  • Strong written communication and proofreading abilities; while this isn't an editor role, you'll often be one of the last set of eyes on content before it goes live

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with other content tools such as Adobe Premiere, Figma, and/or Canva is a plus
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as ClickUp is a plus
  • Comfortable working in structured CMS environments where content follows templates and established patterns
  • Familiarity with headless CMS platforms and structured content workflows is helpful but not required
  • Basic understanding of web accessibility standards is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day digital content updates, ensuring information is accurate and published on schedule
  • Input, format, and publish digital content—text, images, audio, and video—to the museum's website and mobile app using the content management system (CMS)
  • Prepare and optimize media assets for digital publication, including image resizing, cropping, and basic editing
  • Work closely with the museum’s Collections Information and Data team to help keep the department’s images NetX (the museum's Digital Asset Management System / DAMS) current by uploading, tagging, and organizing image assets
  • Assist the museum’s Digital Content Strategist in managing Ikonic, the museum's video management platform, by uploading, tagging, and organizing image assets. (Video production work is limited in this role)
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of published content across website and app
  • Participate in product QA testing for new features and updates, documenting issues and verifying fixes
  • Ensure all published content meets brand standards and accessibility requirements
  • Prepare and edit content using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Figma, and Canva
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support digital content needs across departments
  • Assist with content production tasks, including basic graphic design, video trimming, and asset formatting
  • Support special projects and content initiatives as assigned
  • Work closely with the Senior Interactive Producer and Web Developer to ensure content is properly structured for technical systems
  • Coordinate with curatorial, marketing, education, and other departments to gather and prepare content for publication
  • Flag issues, bottlenecks, or quality concerns to the appropriate team members
  • Track department workflows, deadlines, and publication schedules in Airtable
  • Update and maintain department libraries on Microsoft SharePoint and its image and video storage systems, making sure to maintain consistent file naming conventions, metadata standards, and folder structures
  • Provide general administrative support to the digital department as needed
  • Assist with scheduling, documentation, and other operational tasks to support departmental workflows
