About The Position

We are Preservica, the world's leading Active Digital Preservation company, on a mission to protect the world’s cultural, economic, and political memory by safeguarding millions of unique digital artifacts for future generations. We are seeking a technically minded digital archivist or digital preservation professional to join our growing team. This role will focus on helping our customers achieve success with our digital preservation software and ensuring their digital archiving programs are effective.

Requirements

  • Previous hands-on experience with digital archiving solutions or records management systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
  • General understanding of REST, APIs, SDKs, etc.
  • Familiarity with MODS, METS, PREMIS, and other metadata standards relevant to digital preservation and libraries.
  • Experience with XML.
  • Strong customer service approach and mindset.
  • Ability to manage change effectively and take responsibility for performance and results.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to develop good relationships with stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • DAS certification (or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, supporting their digital preservation programs.
  • Provide guidance and hands-on support for structuring data and metadata.
  • Assist with uploading and ingesting large volumes of digitized and born-digital content.
  • Configure roles and security settings within the software.
  • Integrate and map Preservica with customer catalogs and other systems.
  • Handle various content packages.
  • Liaise with customer IT teams for necessary support and configuration.
  • Act as the customer's success champion.
  • Leverage archiving best practices and process frameworks to drive continual process improvement.
  • Create scripts to support customer-specific use cases.
  • Utilize APIs.
  • Stay abreast of trends in digital archiving, data management, technologies, sourcing, policies, procedures, and other external changes that could impact client operations.
  • Achieve high levels of client satisfaction in the utilization of our SaaS products.
  • Act as an escalation point for all requests and incidents and communicate appropriately to customers and internally.
