About The Position

The Digital and Automation Portfolio Manager (Downstream) is responsible for defining and executing the digital and automation product strategy for downstream industrial chemicals. This role involves aligning product development with market trends, customer needs, and business goals, and prioritizing features and technologies that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. The manager will oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch, including upgrades and end-of-life planning, and collaborate with various internal teams. Additionally, the role requires monitoring market intelligence, gathering customer feedback, and supporting sales teams with technical expertise. The internal title at Baker Hughes for this position is Product Management Advisor - Product Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Downstream chemicals.
  • 3+ years in digital/automation product management.
  • Familiarity with DCS, SCADA, PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of IIoT, AI/ML applications in process industries.
  • Strong understanding of downstream chemical operations and economics.
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value.
