About The Position

This position involves the operation of basic hand tools such as hammers, impact tools, drills, screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, picks, scrap scrapers, pullers, drivers, and punches, as well as arbor and hydraulic presses. The Disassembly Associate will also use an overhead hoist to load core units onto their bench. Responsibilities include operating a Pass-through Washer, Pressure Washer, and Soda Blaster. The Associate will verify the core matches the Bill of Materials (BOM) on the unit's tag. The unit will then be moved to the disassembly bench to remove external parts like the encoder motor, cables, and seals. Following this, the bolts connecting the case halves will be removed using a pneumatic impact and possibly a pry bar. Internal parts will be disassembled in the order dictated by Work Instructions, taking care not to damage parts. Once internal parts are removed, they are sorted into a wash basket, which is then loaded into the pass-through washer. While parts are washing, the Associate will pressure wash and soda blast parts from the previous unit. Once parts are cleaned to the standard, the Associate will begin the process again on the next core unit.
