About The Position

This role is responsible for disassembling machines, identifying and preparing components and parts for inventory. The position also assists with the direction and coordination of warehouse activities to achieve performance standards, ensure the security of parts inventories, maintain storage facilities and equipment, and maximize customer service. The job involves workflow leadership, maintenance, and unique departmental duties including flexibility in disassembling/assembling components, refurbishing, cleaning, painting, scrapping, warehousing, selling parts, and performing clerical duties.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Two years of related experience with at least one year of warehousing experience or related similar work experience with Gregory Poole Equipment Company; or at least two successful and stable years performing routine mechanical repair, assembly, loading and unloading machines.
  • Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb onto and underneath various equipment to perform disassembly and repair activities.
  • Must be able to effectively see to perform job duties, research technical manuals and develop written repair work order reports.
  • Must be able to handle parts up to 50 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier components and parts.
  • Valid state driver’s license (to obtain within 30 days of hire a valid license within the state of GPEC’s operation).
  • Possess a safe driving record, as outlined in our GPEC Motor Vehicle Policy.
  • Some vehicles may require having or obtaining a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
  • Key boarding exposure and versatility.
  • Sufficient hand tools to satisfy the work requirements of Technician I.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and load equipment and components efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure disassembly processes are done effectively, safely, and within the time allotted.
  • Strive to improve disassembly techniques and procedures to improve job efficiencies.
  • Fill and deliver refurbished parts requirements on time.
  • Ensure all receiving, storing, and distribution activities are carried out professionally and within safe warehousing procedures.
  • Process all orders for delivery or pick-up promptly and efficiently.
  • Properly process, load, and receive all incoming parts into inventory.
  • Keep personnel in the work group informed of changes in procedures and paper flow as it affects their part of the overall operation.
  • Maintain a professional businesslike manner and appearance.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Accurately warehouse cores used for rebuild or to be returned to the supplier.
  • Accurately pass on freight charges, both incoming and outgoing, to the customer in accordance with company policy.
  • Inspect, warehouse, and receive returned goods into inventory.
  • Identify, report, and minimize inventory discrepancies.
  • Perform routine mechanical repair and assembly.
  • Maintain clean and orderly appearance of teardown space and warehouse.
  • Maintain all Used Parts road vehicles and lift trucks serviced and washed according to company policy.
  • Load and unload freight efficiently, correctly, and safely.
  • Disassemble/assemble components, refurbish, clean, paint, scrap, warehouse, sell parts and perform clerical duties.
