About The Position

This position involves the disassembly of differential units. Tasks include operating basic hand tools (hammer, impact, drill, screwdriver, pliers, wrenches, picks, scrappers, pullers, drivers, punches), arbor and hydraulic presses, and an overhead hoist. The Associate will also operate a Pass-through Washer, Pressure Washer, and Soda Blaster. Responsibilities include verifying the core unit against the Bill of Materials (BOM), removing external parts (encoder motor, cables, seals), and disassembling the case halves using a pneumatic impact and possibly a pry bar. Internal parts are then disassembled according to Work Instructions, taking care not to damage components. Disassembled parts are sorted into a wash basket, washed in a pass-through washer, and then pressure washed and soda blasted. The process repeats with the next available core unit.

Requirements

Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to 50lbs.
Ability to stand or walk from 8 to 10 hours per day 5 to 6 days per week.
Ability to use handheld tools that are manual, battery operated, and pneumatic (air) powered.
Ability to understand and operate with basic computer skills.
Ability to work in a loud environment where hearing protection is required at all times during production.
Ability to work in an environment that exposes the Disassembly Associate to heat, oil, grease, chemicals, dust, etc.
Ability to work at a steady pace in order to meet the production goal (Takt).

Responsibilities

Operate basic hand tools such as hammer, impact, drill, screwdriver, pliers, wrenches, picks, scrappers, pullers, drivers, and punches.
Operate arbor and hydraulic presses.
Use an overhead hoist to load core units onto the bench.
Operate a Pass-through Washer, Pressure Washer, and Soda Blaster.
Verify that the core matches the BOM called out on the tag.
Remove all external parts like the encoder motor, cables, and seals.
Remove bolts connecting the case halves using a pneumatic impact and possibly a pry bar.
Disassemble internal parts in the order dictated by Work Instructions, taking care not to damage parts.
Sort disassembled internal parts into a wash basket.
Load the basket of parts and case halves into the pass-through washer.
Pressure wash and soda blast cleaned parts from the previous unit.
Return to the bench and start the process again on the next available core unit.
