About The Position

We are hiring for Dietitian positions in the Clinical Nutrition Services at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK! Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Day shifts, 40 hours per week. Part time, 0.5 FTE, Day Shift, 20 Hours Per Week. Per Diem, 0.01 FTE, Day Shift, Hours Per Week as needed. Apply today! Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition or related field
  • Successful completion of a dietetic internship program
  • Continuing education in accordance with policies determined by the Commission for Dietetic Registration for maintenance of registered status.
  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Alaska Dietitian License, or
  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Alaska Nutritionist License
  • Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Clinical Experience in Adult population.
  • 1 year Clinical Experience in Pediatric population.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment of medical nutrition therapy needs based upon the patient's medical diagnosis, laboratory values, anthropometric measures, medications, age-specific requirements, and other co-morbidity factors identified by the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or other members of the health care team.
  • Development, implementation, and management of an individualized, interdisciplinary team plan of care designed to achieve maximum nutrition support.
  • Counseling and education with patient/family in the application of medical nutrition therapy principles when appropriate.
  • Make appropriate referrals to other members of the health care team to optimize outpatient care and follow-up.
  • Function as an advocate for nutrition care for the acutely ill adult and pediatric hospitalized patient; a consultant to medical staff; a nutrition consultant in the community when contracted or requested across the continuum of care; and as a preceptor to students and interns interested in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
