About The Position

The Dietitian Specialist 3 demonstrates expertise in completing inpatient and/or outpatient nutritional assessments and reassessments. Works collaboratively with the health care team to implement nutrition interventions and coordinates the nutrition care of the patient. Provides specialized nutrition education to patients and family members. Works as a team with dietitians, dietetic technicians and diet aides to improve performance standards. Provides in-services / lectures to clinical staff, and mentors clinical dietitians and other health care team members to improve performance standards; participates in educating dietetic and medical students; and serves as a consultant for physicians. Assigned duties may include inpatient, outpatient, and/or clinic settings; participation in out-patient group nutrition classes as assigned; fulfillment of appointments when referrals are received. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or Nutrition-related field required.
  • Three years of clinical nutrition experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of clinical nutrition in area of specialty.
  • Handling/gripping, speed movements, fine dexterity, writing and speaking skills necessary for the job.
  • Able to read.
  • Able to write legibly.
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality.
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate office equipment.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.

  • Certification from Commission on Dietetic registration (RD/RDN) required.
  • Board Certified Specialty certification in specialty area required.
  • CCS Paneling, required, must be obtained within first year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • One year in Pediatrics preferred.
  • Experience in two different specialty clinics preferred.
  • Spanish preferred.
