About The Position

The Dietitian is responsible for providing consultative, counseling, teaching and education services to individuals, community groups, health professionals and other professional groups to improve and protect the nutritional status of the regional population. She/he is also responsible for clinical nutrition assessment and intervention including formulating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating nutritional care plans for those in hospital and within North East 1&2. Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience as a Registered Dietitian
  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Completion of an approved Dietetic Practicum Program
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • Knowledge of practice of nutrition and dietetics across the continuum of care
  • Knowledge of the impact of social/economic/cultural issues on chronic disease
  • Ability to plan, organize/coordinate efforts with other team members
  • Advanced knowledge of diabetes practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of acute care, neuro rehab, and community based health systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
