About The Position

St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, affiliated with Catholic Health, is located in Smithtown, NY, on a 110-acre campus that includes a 290-bed community hospital, a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility, and a 60,000-square-foot medical office building. The Dietetic Assistant supports clinical dietitians by coordinating patient menus, diets, and food-production data to ensure accurate tray service. The role verifies diet orders, updates CBORD, prints daily menus and related lists, manages room-service requests, and communicates patient updates to kitchen staff. It also involves adjusting meal plans for age-specific needs, escalating complex issues to dietitians, managing office supplies, and maintaining a respectful, customer-focused environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of food-service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• CBORD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify diet orders, update CBORD, and print daily menus, tallies, and tube-feeding lists.
• Manage room-service requests and modify meal plans for age-specific needs, from pediatric to geriatric patients.

• Relay patient updates to kitchen staff.
• Manage office supplies and maintain a respectful, customer-focused environment.
