About The Position

Under the direction of the F&N Supervisor, Team Leader, F&N Coordinator, and/or Director, the Dietetic Aide performs a variety of patient foodservice and dish room duties. These include transporting items within and outside the department, cleaning carts and other equipment, accurately and quickly assembling food trays, delivering alternate meal trays, cleaning service wares, and completing other assigned tasks. The role requires providing care appropriate to the ages of patients served and following department policies and procedures. The aide communicates and interacts appropriately with patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while remaining sensitive to cultural and religious beliefs.

Ability to handle stress that may result from time constraints.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Entry-level job experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of patient foodservice and dish room duties.
Transport items within and outside the department.
Clean carts and other equipment.
Assemble food trays accurately and quickly.
Deliver alternate and late meal trays; provide late trays within 30 minutes of receiving the patient meal ticket.
Clean service wares.
Follow food safety guidelines and demonstrate proper handwashing.
Document work according to department policy.
Communicate courteously and helpfully with patients and families, and maintain a friendly, supportive, team-oriented atmosphere with coworkers.
Assist in other areas as needed.
Adhere to FGH policies and procedures and maintain patient confidentiality.
