About The Position

The Dietary position is located in DeSoto, Missouri, and works a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The schedule includes two weekdays and every other weekend and holiday. The role helps prepare and serve appetizing, nourishing, well-balanced meals that meet residents’ daily nutritional and special dietary needs. It also assists with dishwashing and cleaning tasks.

Requirements

Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Understanding of person-centered care.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammed, or scheduled instructions.
Working knowledge of and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in an institutional food-service setting.

Responsibilities

Handle and store food according to facility procedures and safe food-handling guidelines.
Assist with food preparation as assigned by the supervisor.
Prepare food items using standardized recipes and safe food-handling practices.
Use food supplies and equipment efficiently and economically to prevent waste.
Operate institutional food preparation and cleaning equipment, including the dish machine, according to manufacturer instructions and supervisory direction.
Follow proper cleaning and preventive maintenance schedules.
Assist with setting up the food tray line or buffet dining.
Assemble meals and trays for residents according to facility procedures.
Assist with dishwashing and cleaning tasks.
