About The Position

Under the supervision of the Food Service Director/Supervisor, the foodservice aide works with cooks to prepare resident meal trays and special dietary requirements and serves food to residents, visitors, and staff. The role supports appropriate administration of residents’ diets, dining room setup and cleanliness, and the receipt and storage of food and supplies. It also involves communicating and cooperating with staff, residents, and families and complying with long-term care regulations and written dietary procedures and policies.

Requirements

• One year of experience in food services or customer service.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items and deliver trays to residents in floor dining room areas and to residents who do not come to the dining room, ensuring their diets are administered appropriately.
• Maintain cleanliness and set up and clear dining room tables and serving carts.
• Observe residents and report complaints, problems, or anything out of the ordinary to the supervisor.
• Assist in receiving and storing incoming food and supplies.
• Report food and equipment needs to the Chef/Manager.
• Communicate and cooperate with staff, residents, and their families.
• Comply with long-term care regulations and written dietary procedures and policies.
