Requirements

• 1 year experience in food service, health care or related industry

Nice To Haves

• Working towards a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or related health major at an accredited college or university
• Associate's or Vocational degree in Dietetics from a program accredited by Commission of Dietetics Education (CADE)
• Dietetic Technician - Registered (DTR) credential - Commission of Dietetic Registration
• 2 years experience in a diet office as a diet clerk/technician

Responsibilities

• Assists in the meal preparation and service of food and nutritional programs in the nutritional services department.
• Processes and maintains patient diet orders, menus and related nutrition information/records.
• May make infant formulas and assemble enteral/tube feedings as required.
• Works with patients, nursing and dietitians to resolve tray service and/or food issues.
• Checks patient trayline, maintains production tally information and conducts menu assistance and retrieval.
• Documents all necessary dietary and patient information accordingly.
• Ensures proper storage of food and supplies.
• Records refrigerator, pot/pan and patient dish machine temperatures as indicated.
• Completes accurate cash handling reports.
• Locks and secures the kitchen daily.
• May supervise, schedule and direct work of nutrition services aides.
• Other duties as assigned.
