This position is responsible for preparing nutritious and attractive meals for various groups including the Motherhouse, Maria Center, Lindenwood guests, Ancilla College, Co-workers and guests. The role involves coordinating the set-up/clean-up or replenishment of the serving line in collaboration with Dietary Services Aides to ensure a clean, sanitary, and pleasant presentation. The cook must maintain a clean, healthy, and orderly workspace and provide quality dietary service as assigned. This includes preparing daily food and menu requests for all meals, special functions, and breaks according to quality expectations. The position also assists with weekly production sheets for varied and nutritious meal selections, ordering food and supplies, and cross-training to support other Hospitality Services departments as needed. Collaboration with the team and management is essential to ensure work completion, and adherence to attendance and call-off procedures is required to support the ministry. Additionally, the role involves cleaning and sanitizing all appliances, equipment, and tools, disposing of recyclable materials responsibly, informing supervisors of low supplies to maintain inventory, ensuring a safe environment by locking doors as scheduled, and assuring established quality expectations are achieved. The cook is responsible for general cleaning and sanitation of the serving line, monitoring and recording temperatures of equipment, and preparing high-quality, nutritious meals with approved recipes and quality presentation.
