About The Position

Under general direction, cooks or assists cook with meals for the residents.

Requirements

• Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
• Observes safety precautions at all times.
• Maintains age specific safety precautions.
• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to read and understand equipment operation manual.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Dietary Department.
• Performs routine cleaning of kitchen, pantry, and dish room.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Uses and maintains equipment properly.
• Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
• Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Replenishes supplies.
• Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions, and isolation precautions.
• Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
• Works morning or evening shifts as assigned.
• Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
