About The Position

The Dietary Cook prepares nutritious and appetizing meals to support a positive dining experience for residents. The role includes portioning meals, snacks, and beverages; safely preparing texture-modified and therapeutic diets; serving food while following food-safety and hygiene procedures; and recording food temperatures. The cook also follows current procedures and protocols, sets up and takes down dining areas, and helps clean the kitchen, appliances, and dishes. Other duties related to food and nutrition may be assigned.

Requirements

• Able to follow directions verbally and in writing.
• Able to attend work as scheduled.
• Able to read and write basic English.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Portion food for meals, snacks, and beverages according to specific procedures.
• Safely and accurately prepare texture-modified and therapeutic diets.
• Serve food while following food-safety and hygiene procedures.
• Use appropriate tools to prepare and serve food and record food temperatures.
• Stay current on individual procedures and protocols.
• Set up and take down dining areas.
• Assist with general cleaning of the kitchen, appliances, and dishes.
• Perform other duties related to food and nutrition as assigned.
