About The Position
Vernon Health is seeking a regular part-time Dietary Clerk for its hospital Food & Nutrition Services department. The position works 3–4 days per week, from 5:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. The Dietary Clerk supports food preparation and service for patients, staff, visitors, and special functions, and may assist as a bistro cashier when needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a cook or dietary role is strongly preferred.
- A strong interest in food and nutrition is strongly preferred.
- ServSafe certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assemble patient meal trays and check them for accuracy.
- Assist in preparing appropriate quantities of appealing and nutritious food for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Portion food for patient meals and nourishments, the hospital cafeteria, and special functions, including entrees, side items, soups, salads, and desserts.
- Assist with cooking and baking for patients and the bistro.
- Complete daily stocking and use food techniques that conserve nutrients, flavor, and appearance.
- Perform required daily cleaning duties.
- Assist as a bistro cashier when needed.
