About The Position

White Oak of Newberry is seeking multiple part-time cooks and aides for its Dietary department in Newberry, South Carolina. The role supports meal service and kitchen operations, including preparing and serving food, dishwashing, cleaning, and following safe and sanitary food-handling practices. Employees are expected to follow facility and department policies, maintain personal hygiene, wear the required hairnet and uniform, attend scheduled in-service programs, and perform other related duties assigned by the Dietary Manager or Dietary Director.

Responsibilities

Set up the meal tray line, ensuring food is handled and served in accordance with sanitary regulations and items are ready on time.
Prepare juice and special meal items according to the production chart and serve them on residents' trays.
Assist with washing dishes, glassware, and silverware using the dish machine; presoak items as needed, scrape dishes, and dispose of waste.
Check wash and rinse temperatures to ensure they are at proper temperatures.
Put clean, air-dried dishware and silverware in their proper places.
Prepare nourishments and take them to the floors.
Perform assigned cleaning responsibilities.
Follow standard procedures for safe and sanitary food handling.
Adhere to the facility's and Dietary Department's personnel policies and procedures.
Practice good personal hygiene daily and wear a hairnet that completely covers the hair while in the kitchen.
Wear a complete uniform, including a name tag.
Attend scheduled in-service programs.
Perform other related duties assigned by the Dietary Manager or Dietary Director.
