About The Position

Powerlink is seeking a full-time Dietary Aide for its Foodservice Operations team at the Chesterfield Veterans Home in Chesterfield, Michigan. Powerlink provides healthcare integrated services to long-term care and senior living facilities across the United States, including food and nutrition services, environmental services, institutional laundry services, and facility maintenance.

Reporting to the Culinary Manager, the Dietary Aide supports food preparation and production, inventory control, kitchen safety and sanitation, equipment use and cleaning, food safety, recipe adherence, therapeutic diets, and modified-texture foods and liquids. The role includes maintaining a clean and safe work area, assisting dietary cooks as needed, and performing general cleaning and sanitation duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of customer service experience.
• At least one year of food service experience.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays with flexible hours.
• Background in safety and sanitation compliance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be local to Chesterfield, Michigan, and surrounding areas.

Nice To Haves

• Current ServSafe® certification or Food Handler certification.
• Experience working in a long-term care environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist dietary cooks as necessary.
• Perform general sanitation and cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, and taking out trash.
• Support food preparation and production, inventory control, kitchen safety and sanitation, equipment use and cleaning, food safety, recipe adherence, therapeutic diets, and modified-texture foods and liquids.
