About The Position

Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, a 160-bed skilled nursing facility in Beacon, New York, is hiring full-time Dietary Aides. The role supports food service for residents by preparing and serving meals, snacks, beverages, nutritional supplements, and tube-feeding products, while maintaining food-handling, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. Dietary Aides also participate in in-service activities and protect the confidentiality of resident health information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Genuine and caring attitude toward seniors.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.
• Must abide by the New York State vaccine mandate.

Responsibilities

• Handle food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures, and observe proper food-handling techniques.
• Set up food for tray lines and dining rooms.
• Deliver and retrieve food carts to and from residents’ areas.
• Set up meal trays and work on the tray line.
• Process soiled trays, dishes, and utensils through the dishwasher.
• Assist with serving food.
• Prepare snacks and beverages for between-meal service to patients.
• Prepare nutritional supplements and tube-feeding products and deliver them to customer areas.
• Wash pots, pans, and other equipment as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout work areas.
• Perform scheduled or daily cleaning duties, including scrubbing and mopping floors and cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Food Service Director.
• Maintain the confidentiality of protected health information, whether electronic, written, or oral.
• Participate in all in-service activities.
