About The Position

White Oak Manor York is looking for a Dietary Aide to join their team. This is a full-time position on the 2nd shift, working from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. The facility is a 109-bed campus with a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of food preparation, special diets, menu adherence, and food safety and sanitation. They should possess a positive attitude, a commitment to quality service and cleanliness, and be a self-motivated team player who can work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities include preparing daily meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and assisting with inventory.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to follow menus and special diet instructions
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a steady pace
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality service
  • Reliability and attention to detail
  • Six months experience preferably in institutional food preparation or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in providing dietary services in the long-term care industry is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and service of daily meals following planned menus
  • Prepare food in accordance with special diets and resident needs
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
  • Assist with inventory, stocking, and other kitchen-related duties as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the dietary team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Support high standards of quality, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction
