The Dietary Aide works in our adult day health center preparing and serving snacks and meals to participants. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment and other related tasks. The Dietary Aide distributes meals and beverages in the center and/or in the home following departmental guidelines. They record temperatures of all meals and kitchen equipment and wear appropriate protective gear during meal and snack preparations. This role also updates information on diet cards and diet lists as needed and prepares and serves snacks and meals according to menus, portion control, diet orders, and time constraints. The Dietary Aide maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment by performing daily and weekly cleaning according to schedule, cleans, organizes, and sanitizes food service equipment and areas, and maintains inventory and restocks supplies on a regular basis, monitoring expiration dates. They assist the DSM and Dietary Lead with ordering, tracking, and delivering meals, snacks, supplies, and supplements, and communicate with the Lead Dietary Aide, Speech Therapist, and Dietitian regarding nutritional issues. Additionally, the Dietary Aide assists the Dietitian with the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
