About The Position
This position is responsible for ensuring all meal items such as sandwiches, desserts, sides, vegetables, breads and other food products are prepared daily and by using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Tally sheet. The Dietary Aide Floater will be expected to fill positions as necessary and will perform a variety of tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Food Handler’s certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Follow the prep list created by the cook/dietary system.
- Prepare, label, and stock all items for cafeteria sales.
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads, jello, sandwiches etc. for facility use.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored and labeled properly.
- Prepare snacks and supplements for patients and residents daily.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
- Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas using FIFO method.
