About The Position

Western Tidewater Community Services Board is seeking a Dietary Aide for its Tidewater Cove Assisted Living Facility in Suffolk, Virginia. The organization provides recovery-oriented care in mental health, intellectual disability, and substance abuse services to residents of Franklin, Suffolk, Isle of Wight County, and Southampton County. The Dietary Aide assists with food preparation and supports residents who need help eating. The role also includes cleaning and kitchen maintenance, and setting up and taking down dining areas. The Dietary Aide must use sound judgment when working with residents, demonstrate initiative, and maintain confidentiality.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate.
Six months of related work experience.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable DMV record at the time of employment and continuously thereafter.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation for residents.
Help residents who need assistance eating their meals.
Assist with cleanup and kitchen maintenance.
Set up and take down dining areas.
Exercise sound judgment in dealing with residents, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
