About The Position

The Dietary Aide prepares, cooks, and serves food in a sanitary manner according to the posted menu, standardized recipes, and procedures. The role ensures food is served at proper temperatures and scheduled times, and serves diets in accordance with physician’s diet orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food handler’s certification card.
• Enjoy working with residents and have good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with and relate to residents with dementia.
• Ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively.
• Ability to follow written procedures and communications.
• Present a professional manner and appearance at all times.
• Be dependable, honest, and trustworthy.
• Have a positive attitude toward the concept of culture change.

Nice To Haves

• Health care dietary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve food according to the posted menu, standardized recipes, and procedures while maintaining sanitary practices.
• Ensure food is served at proper temperatures and scheduled times.
• Serve diets according to physician’s diet orders.
• Supervise staff in the absence of the Dietary Manager.
